Each week, students will be given 10 new words and a new song to learn. Learning the lyrics to songs help develop students' fluency, and the words of the week are given to build students' vocabulary and improve students' spelling.
Monday: Use a dictionary to define the 5 or more starred words of the week. Tuesday: Write 5 of the remaining words in a sentence. Identify its part of speech in the sentence you write. Wednesday: Using your knowledge of prefixes and suffixes, build new words from the words you were given. Find as many as you can! Please use a dictionary to help you! Thursday: Create a consonants, vowels, and syllables chart. Also, review for Friday's quiz! (Look, Say, Spell, Cover Write, Check)
